Drawing influences from groups like Genesis and artists like Nick Drake, Walker quickly found space in the Chicago independent music scene releasing multiple EPs in cassette and a single vinyl.
In 2014 Ryley Walker released his debut full-length album entitled All Kinds of You through Tompkins Square Records. Fans latched onto Ryley Walker tickets for the artist’s passionate style along with other artists looking to collaborate. In 2015 Walker released his second album Primrose Green with help from backing musicians like Fred Lonberg-Holm along with several other experimental and jazz musicians. Walker also released an instrumental album in the same year entitled Land of Plenty. The album featured Bill Mckay and they play multiple different guitars and genres moving through psychedelic, acoustic and classic rock. In 2021 Walker teamed up with Tokyo band Kikagaku Moyo to produce the live album Deep Fried Grandeur.
