Sasquatch was founded in Los Angeles in 2001 by Gibbs, Clayton Charles and Rick Ferrante. They spent a number of years refining their signature sound that draws on diverse influences such as Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad and Corrosion of Conformity. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2004. 

In the late 2000s, Sasquatch underwent a series of lineup changes, replacing Charles and Ferrante with Riggs and Casanova, respectively. Nevertheless, they released their critically acclaimed album III in 2010 through the Small Stone Records label. The band quickly amassed a following in heavy metal circles for their progressive rock influences and catchy grooves. They are now known for their interactive and often improvised live performances.
