The album earned rave reviews for its infectious energy, catchy hooks and lo-fi, garage rock sound. Their style has been compared to acts such as The Districts, Pinegrove and Born Ruffians.
Lead singer Estok has received high praise in particular for his soulful Southern drawl and classic rock and roll vocalizations, most noticeable on the group’s hits “Dominoes” and “Armchair Quarterbacks.” Secondhand Sound’s lyrics often center around themes of growth, change and introspection.
