Slater was founded in 2011 in the suburbs of Los Angeles, Calif., the band consists of Paige Augusta who plays the bass, Alex Arnaout on backup vocals, Connor Trietsch who plays the guitar and does backup vocals and Jagger Krusen on the drums.
Slater, formerly known as Slatr, has played at venues such as The Troubadour, Roxy and Whiskey A Go Go, the Moroccan Lounge and The Constellation Room. The band has been said to give off vibes of early 2000s punk rock music like Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Pearl Jam and Blink 182. The band released their first EP titled “Hey You” on April 13, 2013, which they recorded at The Village Recorder. It was produced by Ryan Hewitt who produced Red Hot Chili Peppers and Matchbox 20. Dave Kurzen, who worked with Pearl Jam and Ida Maria, and Kevin Martin, who worked with The Gracious Few, also helped produced the EP.
