Chura released her debut LP Messes in the late 2010s through Saddle Creek Records, which was met with high praise from publications like Exclaim!, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. The following year the artist released Degrees B/W Sour Honey, which was produced by Will Toledo of Car Seat Headrest fame. Again Chura earned critical acclaim, in particular for her sophisticated musicianship and impressive vocal range. In 2019, she released her second full-length album Midnight. Chura has developed a reputation for her lyrics’ feminist themes and her instrumentals’ seamless combination of alt-rock and garage pop elements.
