The origin of Stereolab comes from Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadier who worked together with the band McCarthy. Gane (guitar, keyboards) and Sadier (vocals, keyboards, guitar) bonded while building a band with surreal sounds and philosophical themes. Other notable members include Andy Ramsey (drums), and Mary Hansen (backing vocals keyboard, guitar) who sadly passed away after an accident in 2002. Stereolab tickets are full of revelations as their use of vintage analog instruments, dynamic effects, and synthesizers keeps every song fresh.

Unpredictable instruments and soothing female English or French lyrics define Stereolab’s sound. Despite the huge noise of Stereolab in the underground scene for their innovative practices they never broke through into mainstream success. Regardless they continue to deliver amazing live performances that hinge on heavily feedback-driven guitar. You can expect a bit of Jazz, samba, and funk to be layered over there lounge 1960s pop-rock style. After taking a long hiatus between 2009 and 2019 the band has reunited after multiple solo efforts to perform music again.
