Casey Crescenzo (lead vocals, guitar, organ) first started working on The Dear Hunter as a side project while performing with the group The Receiving Ends of Sirens. Originally intended as an outlet for excess creative energy The Dear Hunter started to take shape in 2006 after Crescenzo was “asked to leave” The Receiving End of Sirens.
After releasing a ten-track demo in 2005, Crescenzo used the basis of his work to begin the construction on the first part of a six-part concept album series. In 2006 Crescenzo released Act I: The Lake South, The River North, which began the need for The Dear Hunter tickets as fans were drawn to the unique music. Crescenzo built out a band after the success of the album with a current lineup that includes Nick Crescenzo (drums, backing vocals), Maxwell Tousseau (guitar, keys), Robert Parr (guitar, keys) and Nick Sollecito (bass). The musical style of the band is progressive rock with plenty of experimentation. In 2016 Crescenzo release the fifth part of his concept series Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional.
