Playwright, screenwriter and author Marvine Neil Simon lived from 1927 to 2018. Most of his more than 30 plays have been adapted into critically well-received movies, mostly by Simon himself. Simon is the most Oscar and Tony-nominated author of all time.
The narrative of the play involves six dinner guests arriving one at a time to a top-tier restaurant in Paris, France. As the guests arrive, it gradually becomes apparent that the guests are all divorced couples. Five of the six think they are there to meet their friend, a divorce lawyer, who doesn’t show. The tone of the play turns darker and into more of a drama as they realize there is a hidden reason they have been invited.
