Meric Long is a multi-instrumentalist who specializes in heavy metal. Logan Kroeber is a practitioner of West African ewe drumming who also plays acoustic blues guitar. Together, The Dodos mold the two styles to create well-crafted sonic journeys.

In 2006, the duo released their first EP entitled Dodo Bird, which was the group’s original name. They quickly followed up with Beware of the Maniacs the same year, which led to their name change as fans began calling them “The Dodos.” Through 2018 The Dodos have released seven albums including 2008's critically acclaimed Visiter and their October 2018 release, Certainty Waves.
