Scottish native Mohawke released his debut album “Butter” with Warp Records in 2009. He is also a founding member of record label LuckyMe. Canadian member Lunice released two albums before forming TNGHT. He also collaborated on remixes with Diplo and Azealia Banks. Mohawke and Lunice first met in 2008 at the LuckyMe Records North American tour. The duo formed TNGHT in 2012 and released their self-titled EP in July of the same year.

In 2013, TNGHT announced they would be taking a hiatus. During this time, Mohawke collaborated with artists Drake, Pusha T and Future on Kanye West’s compilation album “Cruel Summer.” Additionally, he released his second studio album, Lantern. At the same time, Lunice released his own solo album, titled CCCLX. He released the collaborative album Moving Parts with producer The Alchemist.
