Tonic debuted its first album, Lemon Parade, in 1996. The album was an instant success and spent 57 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. In addition, Lemon Parade featured one of Tonic’s most famous songs, “If You Could Only See,” which received swift success and peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Airplay Hot 100. The song later featured on the famous video game Band Hero and was Rock Radio’s most played song in 1997.
In 2002, Tonic released the critically acclaimed album, Head on Straight. The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album, and its hit track, “Take Me As I Am,” was nominated for Best Rock Performance by Duo or Group with Vocal.
The band went on hiatus in 2004 but reunited in 2008. Tonic tickets sold out on its first new tour and the band debuted its fourth studio album, Tonic, in 2010. The self-titled album peaked at No. 150 on the Billboard 200 chart and included the hit single, “Release Me.” Tonic debuted the album Lemon Parade Revisited in 2016 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lemon Parade.
