In 2005 Eric Herman wanted to produce an album for Touré, which was self-titled and released in 2007. He began touring before returning to the studio in 2009 to release Fondo, which made it to #5 on Billboard World Album charts and was in the Village Voice’s Top 100. In 2010, Touré was invited, along with Shakira and Alicia Keys, to perform the Opening Celebration at the FIFA World Cup.  

2011 saw the release of Touré’s third studio album, The Secret, followed by Mon Pays in 2013. The latter reached #1 on the CMJ’s New World chart. Samba, in 2017, was recorded in front of a live studio audience in Woodstock, NY. Touré’s style is rooted in Malian folk with heavy reggae, soul, and blues influences.
