The members are Evan Burrows, Lee Landey, Sofia Arreguin, Robert Cody and Cory Hanson.
Hanson formed Wand out of the ashes of his previous bands Meatbodies and Together Pangea. After filling out the lineup, he went on to develop an underground following with the band that culminated in being signed to the independent label Drag City Records. Despite ensuing lineup changes, Wand released the critically acclaimed albums Ganglion Reef, Golem and 1000 Days between 2014 and 2015.
Wand has since earned widespread praise for their polished yet chaotic sound, and for their incorporation of diverse influences such as King Crimson and The Velvet Underground. They received significant media buzz for their 2019 album Laughing Matter in particular, which earned rave reviews from publications like Stereogum and Pitchfork. The band is also a longtime collaborator of well-known singer-songwriter Ty Segall.
