This Erie, Penn.,-based band formed in 2002 under the name Point Zero with two of the current band members Leroy Hamp on lead guitar and vocals and Steve Brown on rhythm guitar. Under this moniker they released an EP Unite Us All and switched their names to War of Ages after signing with Strike First Records. They released a self-titled album in 2005. Alex Hamp and T.J. Alford joined the band to plays drums and bass respectively in 2006 when the band signed with it's current label Facedown Records. Their sophomore album Pride of the Wicked was released in 2006 followed by Fire from the Tomb in 2007 and Arise and Conquer in 2008.
War of Ages released their most critically acclaimed album next in 2010 entitled Eternal. This was their first album to rank on the Billboard charts. Their sixth album Return to Life did the same in 2012 increasing the band's notoriety and reach. In 2014 the band added Jack Daniels as another rhyme guitarist changing their style to a more European metal sound for their seventh album Supreme Chaos that hit 107 on the Billboard 200, and five on the Christian charts. The band dropped the single “No Altars” in 2021 and is working on the EP Rhema.
