He formed The Works in 2002 and began offering performances of One Night of Queen all around the world. The Queen tribute band offers nearly 150 shows every year. The Works have received personal praise and endorsements from lead Queen guitarist Brian May. 

What sets The Works apart from other Queen tribute bands is frontman Gary Mullen. He looks, acts and sounds just like Freddie Mercury. Mullen even wore prosthetic teeth for some performances to look even more like Mercury. Guitarist David Brockett plays the same BM Red specials that Brian May uses. Their One Night of Queen shows are reminiscent of many 1980s Queen tours. Custom-built lighting rigs imitate the same ones used by Queen. Celebrity admirers of The Works include singer Rick Astley and Judas Priest’s lead singer Rob Halford. The Works tickets offer Queen fans a glimpse into the past.
