Bowling Green Ballpark broke ground in the summer of 2008 and was completed on April 17, 2009, on Citizens First Opening Night to a standing-room-only crowd of over 6,800. The starting lineup was driven onto the field by locally-owned vintage Hot Rods. The Hot Rods played lights out against the Kannapolis Intimidators with a momentous victory of 8-4, bringing pride to Bowling Green and the first professional baseball team to the town in over 67 years.
