The brewer opened in 1997 and was founded by Wendy Littlefield and Don Feinberg, owners of Vanberg and DeWulf, a beer import company, and the Duvel Moortgat brewery in Belgium. In 2003, the Duvel Brewery took over and in 2005 expanding its production capacity; the brewery now ships all over the United States and to Mexico, Canada and France.
Ommegang Brewery has a 100-seat café that serves a variety of food and drink. In addition to a yearly beer tasting event, the brewery hosts a series of outdoor concerts. All events are rain or shine and the grounds have a 5,000-person capacity. For any events, there is outdoor tent camping available. The venue also always has EMTs on staff, as well as the ability to cater to a variety of dietary, health, and accessibility needs for any event.
