See a quality performer live in an impressive venue with Cliffs Pavilion tickets. The Cliffs Pavilion is a performing arts theatre in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England. It is the largest performing arts theatre in Essex with a seating capacity of 1,630 and stages more than 300 performances annually in a diverse range of live entertainment options, including ballet, opera and classical music as well as headline rock and roll and pop acts and popular comedians and the largest pantomime in the borough of Southend-on-Sea.
Construction on the original pavilion was started in the 1930s, intending the structure to be a 500-seat theatre in the art deco style fashion popular at the time. The outbreak of World War II curtailed construction and the site was boarded up until 1959 when the incomplete structure was torn down.
There’s always something great to see with Cliffs Pavilion tickets. The rubble from that building was moved aside. Construction then began on a site slightly closer to the cliff edge. The pavilion debuted in 1964.
Paul McCartney performed a “secret” show at the pavilion during his 1991 Unplugged Summer Tour on July 19, 1991. A renovation and expansion of the pavilion occurred between July 1991 and December 1992. Improvements included rebuilding the stairs, adding a new Foyer Bar and adding a balcony to the auditorium.
