Peer recorded 76 different songs by 19 various acts. These recordings have become collectively referred to as the Bristol Sessions and are the earliest recordings of what is today known as Country Music. Included in the recordings were Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter family. Both acts were elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The festival received the “Best Destination Event of 2009” award from the Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus. The organization also hosts concerts as part of the Border Dash concert series. The organization also hosts the weekly Great On State concert series during the summer.
