The stadium is home to the Peoria Chiefs, which compete in the Midwest League as a High-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The park is also utilized by the Bradley University Braves.
Construction on the ballpark began on August 16, 2001. The stadium debuted on May 24, 2002, under the name O’Brien Field, with the Chiefs hosting the Kane County Cougars. The stadium hosted the IHSA baseball state finals for Class 1A and Class 2A in 2011. In 2013, naming rights were purchased by the local company Caterpillar Inc. for 10 years with the stadium being named Dozer Park in reference to Caterpillar bulldozers.

The stadium can accommodate 8,500 and has 20 luxury suites. Amenities at the park include five fixed food stands and numerous mobile food carts. The concessionaire is Professional Sports Catering.
