Duke of York’s Theatre Show Tickets
Experience this theatre in the historic West End district of London with Duke of York’s Theatre tickets. Located on St. Martin’s Lane, across the street for the Wyndham’s Theatre, in the City of Westminster in downtown London, this build was constructed in 1892 as the then Trafalgar Square Theatre. The building was designed by Walter Emden, who designed 10 other London theaters. It was built by Frank Wyatt and Violet Melnotte. The theatre was renamed Trafalgar Theatre in 1894, and again to Duke of York’s in 1895 to honor King George V. The first performance was Frederic Toulmouche’s comedy Go-Bang. The theatre originally had four levels of seats, holding a total of 900 people, but due to safety concerns, there are now only three seating levels holding up to 640 guests.
Over its prestigious history, this theatre has many historic performances. Madame Butterfly by David Belasco in 1900, Death and the Maiden by Ariel Dorfman in 1992, The Rocky Horror Show in 1995, and perhaps most famous the world debut of J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. Be a part of these historical performances today only with Duke of York’s Theatre tickets.
