The Hawkins Arena is primarily used for home games for the Mercer Bears, an NCAA Division I team in the Southern Conference. The men’s team played their inaugural game at the arena in 2004, with the women’s team playing their inaugural game just a few days later. In 2010, the arena served as the site of Mercer University’s first Atlantic Sun Conference basketball tournament.
