It is home to the Chicago Dogs, an independent professional baseball team that competes in the American Association of Professional Baseball which is an official partner of the MLB. The Dogs play against some of the top teams such as the Cleburne Railroaders, the Milwaukee Milkmen and the Kane County Cougars to name just three. The team played its inaugural season in 2018.
Impact Field opened on May 25, 2018, with the Chicago Dogs playing the Kansas City T-Bones. It was designed by the architect company AECOM and cost $60 million to build. The field has a capacity of 6,300 spectators. The field surface is made of grass with the right field measuring 294 feet, left field measuring 312 feet and center field measuring 390 feet.
