James Shuart Stadium broke ground in 1962 and was finished a year later. Originally named Hofstra Stadium, the venue was dedicated to the former president of the university in 2002, who played for the Pride in lacrosse and soccer. It has gone through numerous renovations over the years including luxury suites, a press box and the Fried Center for Stende-Athlete Development.
