It was originally named the Del Web Field from 1955 to 1983 when it was renamed for John Thurman who was a state assemblyman. In 1997, the stadium received a facelift of renovations worth almost four million dollars with the design by L.D. Astorino & Associates LTD with the general contractor of Acme Construction Company. The stadium has a capacity of 4,000 spectators for baseball games and 7,000 for concerts.
