Mortenson Hall’s construction was completed in 1930 as a “living memorial” to the minister, theologian and civic leader Reverend Dr. Horace Bushnell by his daughter, Dotha Bushnell. Mortenson Hall itself contains 2,800 seats. The architectural firm that designed the hall was Corbett, Harrison and MacMurray, the same firm that designed Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The hall is also home to a 5,600 pipe Austin Organ, which was installed in 1929 and restored completely in the 1980s.
