Road America Raceway began as a road racing course. It transitioned into a private road course following the tragedy at Watkins Glen in 1952. Road America’s main circuit runs 4.048 miles in length. Fourteen turns are spread throughout the track along with changes in elevation. Seating is open along the track with grandstands situated in spots around the raceway. There is also permanent hillside seating that has room for more than 150,000 fans to sit comfortably. Fans who purchase Road America Raceway tickets may also find races taking place at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex. The 0.8-mile karting track is home to two different karting series. Supermoto and street bike racing events have been known to take place at the Motorplex and are sanctioned by the North Woods GP.
