A string of sizable renovations in the 2000s saw the venue upgraded to include a new maple floor, sound system, and administrative offices. The playing surface was named the Dick Tarrant court in honor of the University of Richmond’s winningest basketball coach. The Robins Center has hosted a number of prominent events over the years, including the 1983 Colonial Athletic Association basketball tournament and a 1992 presidential debate between Bill Clinton and George H.W.
