The Alumni Gym is a multi-purpose event venue that is located on the campus of Elon University in Elon, N.C. It was home to the university’s men’s and women’s basketball teams and the women’s volleyball team before they switched to the Schar Center after the 2018 season.
The venue has a seating capacity of 1,585 seats and was constructed in 1949. It has undergone a few renovations such as in 1992 when air conditioning, new floors more seats and offices and classrooms were added and in 2010 when the seating layout was changed to a horseshoe shape with new scoreboards and new locker rooms. The venue space often sees the basketball sports clubs come and practice on its court, but when its not being used for practice it is a host to a slew of other events such as guest speakers and job fairs.
