The Westcott was formerly a movie theater but was converted to a concert hall and reopened in 2018 as a local concert hall for the surrounding neighborhood of Westcott as well as attracting students from Syracuse University and the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

The building was originally constructed in 1919 and was initially named the Harvard Theater and was a cinema, screening a diverse array of movies over the years, ranging from vaudeville films to adult movies. In 1993, the property became the Westcott Cinema, run by film enthusiast Nat Tobin as a single-screen theater for contemporary films.
Tobin ran the cinema before it closed in October 2007 and the building was bought by Sam Levey and Dan Mastronardi, who renovated the property and opened the Westcott Theater, with their inaugural shows being held in September 2008.
