Villanova Stadium opened way back on October 8, 1927. The field is named Goodreau Field after the late Villanova football player, Leo J. Francis Goodreau, who passed away due to injuries sustained in practice. The track is named Jumbo Elliot Track, named after James "Jumbo" Elliot, the legendary Villanova track & field coach, considered to be one of the greatest of all time by producing five gold medal winners.
