The African-American Masonic group the Sons of Haiti purchased the structure in 1973 and then rented space out to multiple tenants. Historic Seattle purchased the building in 2009 and then refurbished it before reopening the venue in 2010. The building itself is a three-story double wood-frame structure with a brick veneer façade. The eclectic design mixes Mission Revival with commercial styling.
