He co-wrote the song 'Dirty Side' and sang it with Colt Ford on Ford's 2014 album 'Thanks for Listening' and he co-wrote the song 'Eat Sleep Love You Repeat', which was a 2014 single for Rodney Atkins. Hayes' breakthrough came in 2017 with the release of the single 'You Broke Up With Me' which went to number 16 on the Country Songs Chart. It was released ahead of the album 'Boom!'. A tour in support of the album had dates set in 2018 in cities from New England to Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, New York and California.
