Dogstar is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles that formed after a chance encounter at a supermarket between Reeves and Robert Mailhouse. The two started jamming together and soon formed Dogstar, adding Gregg Miller and Bret Domrose to the lineup.

In 1995, the band embarked on its first tour visiting cities throughout the U.S. and Asia. Dogstar also opened for David Bowie at his 1995 Hollywood Palladium. The band dropped its first EP EP Quattro Formaggi a year later and then the band released its debut album Our Little Visionary in Japan. They released one more album, Happy Ending, in 1999 and broke up a few years later.

Dogstar announced on Instagram in 2022 that they were reuniting, then performed at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival in 2023. In July, Dogstar announced a new tour and their third album, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and the Palm Trees.
