After playing in different bands during high school in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, the four original band members moved to the college town of New Brunswick to break into a larger scene. In the shadow of Rutgers University, The Bouncing Souls became cemented in the underground scene often helping other bands gain notoriety by opening for them. After the release of their first major album The Good, The Bad & The Argyle in 1994 the band started getting more attention. In 1996, the band released Maniacal Laughter which was half-written in a week and eventually earned them a deal with Epitaph Records.

Thanks to their boisterous attitudes and laissez-faire attitude towards making great music The Bouncing Souls tickets are a must for any fan of punk music. The band’s lineup is made of Greg Attonito (vocals), Pete Steinkopf (guitar), Bryan Kienlen (bass), and George Rebelo (drums). Only the drummer has shifted over the years. By the time the band released their 5th studio album How I Spent My Summer Vacation in 2001 the upbeat punk sound, The Bouncing Souls helped pioneer had become mainstream. As of the end of 2020, The Bouncing Souls have released eleven studio albums along with multiple commemorative DVDs.
