See the legendary rocker perform live with Artimus Pyle tickets. Artimus Pyle is a drummer and singer-songwriter known for his work with the band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Pyle enjoyed a decorated military career in the late 60s and early 70s, rising to the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged and joining Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1948, Pyle joined the US Marine Corps in 1968, working as an airplane mechanic at military bases in Tennessee and South Carolina. After leaving the service in 1971, he briefly played drums for the South Carolina band Thickwood Lick. He was eventually persuaded by Brian Pruitt to join Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1974, replacing original drummer Bob Burns. The first Lynyrd Skynyrd album to feature contributions by Pyle was the 1975 release Nuthin’ Fancy.

Pyle survived the infamous 1977 plane crash and assisted local rescuers when they converged on the crash site. Following his work with Lynyrd Skynyrd, the drummer performed in a slew of small bands including Alias, the Rossington Collins Band and the Diaspora Yeshiva Band. He has been widely praised for his sophisticated musicianship, engaging onstage persona and down to earth charisma. Buy Artimus Pyle tickets today to see this classic rockstar take the stage.
