After his American Idol appearance, Maroney began singing and playing guitar in the bluegrass band, Subtle Clutch. He played the Dollywood and The Square Room, and also appeared in Knoxville’s Rhythm N’ Blooms festival.

He began producing music on his own and now has signed with Canvasback Music and Atlantic Records. He’s opened for Liz Cooper & The Stampede and Wallows during their respective tours in 2019. His song “Fool’s Gold” has been famously a favorite of Taylor Swift’s when she featured it on her Apple Music playlist.
