Dickinson’s prominence in music first rose with his work in the band Samson from 79-81 before joining Iron Maiden. His first album release with Maiden was The Number of the Beast, now hailed as one of the best heavy metal albums of all time along with the subsequent Maiden albums. He has released over 13 albums with Iron Maiden. Outside of Maiden, his musical career also boasts six solo studio albums and four records with Samson. He is known for his raucous, wide-ranging and yet operatic vocals with a stage presence also just as impressive.
Outside of music, Dickinson has a vast resume of pursuits including piloting, fencing, broadcasting and much more. In the 90s he earned his pilot’s license and began flying for the British airline Astraeus. Once that airline closed, he started his own company called Cardiff Aviation specializing in aircraft maintenance.
His other endeavors include numerous hosting and producing work in radio and TV. Showcasing his interests in rock music and history by being part of multiple shows and documentaries. A natural evolution for Dickinson is writing. He has released a number of books and scripts. He is also an accomplished fencer and has a successful line of beer through Robinsons Brewery.
