The founding members of Current Swell include Scott Stanton, Dave Lang, Louis Sadava and Chris Petersen. Past members include Ghosty Boy, Mike Quirke and Kyle Robinson. Current Swell started as jam sessions and messing around on instruments, but that quickly changed. Current Swell started writing and performing music, and they actually sold out their first show. Current Swell released three albums before they took off. They released So I Say in 2005, Trust Us Now in 2007 and Protect Your Own in 2009. One of their songs from Protect Your Own went viral on Youtube, and they started getting recognized internationally.

Continuing their success, Current Swell has performed at the Winter Olympics in 2010 and at the Ottawa Bluesfest. In 2011, they won first place at Vancouver’s Peak Performance Project. After that win, Current Swell went on to write more albums by the names of Long Time Ago, Ulysses, When to Talk and When to Listen and Buffalo.
