Lovin’ Spoonful Concert Tickets
Listen again to classic rock and roll with Lovin’ Spoonful tickets. The Lovin’ Spoonful were formed in the folk music scene in Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan in the early 1960s by John B. Sebastian with guitarist Zal Yanovsky from the Mugwumps, a local bohemian folk group playing in coffee houses, two members of which would go on to form The Mamas and the Papas.
Drummer Jan Carl and bassist Steve Boone completed the group, with drummer and vocalist Joe Butler replacing Carl after their first gig. The group first recorded with Elektra Records in early 1965 before moving to Kama Sutra records. The group’s first single was “Do You Believe In Magic”, released on July 20, 1965.
Enjoy again the hits everyone knows with Lovin’ Spoonful tickets. The group had several top ten hits, including “You Didn’t Have to Be So Nice”, which went to #10, “Daydream” and “Did You Ever Make Up Your Mind” which climbed all the way to #2 and their #1 song “Hot Child In The City.”
Yanovsky left the band in 1967. After Jerry Yester replaced Yanovsky, Sebastian left the group to go solo and it became a trio and then disbanded in 1969. The first reunion was in 1979 and then again in 1981. The original four members of the group were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. In February of 2020, Sebastian, Boone and Butler joined to reform the band again.
