AMA Supercross Dates & Schedule

After the formation of AMA Supercross, the series became the de facto winter discipline for dirt bike racers. The AMA Supercross schedule begins in early January in Los Angeles. The series will hold 18 races over consecutive weekends with an exception for Easter weekend. The first several races on the calendar are held in California or Arizona to take advantage of the warmer weather in outdoor stadiums. The series will begin moving into colder climates in February where they can race in domed stadiums or stadiums with retractable roofs.

One of the highlights during the Supercross season is the annual event held at Daytona International Speedway. This race features a track designed by Ricky Carmichael that is built on the infield tri-oval grass. Daytona is considered the birthplace of modern-day Supercross. The Monster Cup is the season finale which is held during the first weekend of May at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
