Mustard Service is a surf and jazz-rock band from Florida made up of members Adam Perez, Leo Cattani, Gabriel Marinuchi, Augusto Di Catarina and Marco Rivero Ochoa. Mustard Service was formed in 2015 with a vision of playing a style of music they refer to as “zest pop,” a fusion of elements from surf rock, jazz, funk and samba. The band took its name from the results of an online random word generator.
Mustard Service released their debut album Zest Pop in 2017 and embarked on their first series of tours the following year alongside the hit Spanish rock band Hinds. In 2020 they released their follow-up album C’est La Vie, which further developed their light-hearted lyrical style and sophisticated musicality.
The band has received widespread acclaim, in particular for their similarity to their primary influences The Beach Boys, Mild High Club and Red Hot Chili Peppers. They often write lyrics in a mix of Spanish and English and have incorporated a number of Latin music styles into their sound, most notably bossa nova.
