The Zulus Tickets
The Zulus Concert Tickets
Keep the spirit of punk alive with The Zulus tickets. The Zulus are a hardcore punk band from Boston made up of members Rich Gilbert, Larry Bangor and Malcolm Travis. The band came together in the late ‘80s in the wake of the breakup of the group Human Sexual Response. Both Bangor and Gilbert were members of Human Sexual Response, a post-punk group that had achieved cult status in Boston but met with limited commercial success.
Human Sexual Response’s 1982 sophomore album In a Roman Mood had been a flop both critically and commercially, and the band dissolved shortly after its release. Bangor and Gilbert then recruited drummer Malcolm Travis to form a new band, Wild Kingdom. Copyright issues forced a name change to Gospel Birds, then again to The Zulus.
The Zulus became known for their hard-hitting yet traditional rock and roll sound, and their slick guitar riffs and angsty lyrics set the tone for the grunge rock that would become prevalent in the ‘90s. The trio signed to Slash Records, through which they released their debut album Down on the Floor in 1988. They continue to tour to a devoted following still today.
