Then, in 2015, the band scored a sudden death upset in Colorado at the RockyGrass band competition.

The band’s first album, the self-titled Twisted Pines, was released in 2017 and was well received by critics and the public. NPR called the band one to watch and the Boston Globe compared the band to ensembles such as the Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek and Crooked Still. Their follow-up EP, Dreams, was released in 2018.
